Loved this Letter to the Editor

This was in the Indianapolis Star today - the writer was talking about the parade that precedes the Indianapolis 500 Race (yearly on Memorial Day weekend...)

Let's hope hateful sign won't be at next parade

My husband and I took our granddaughters, ages 5 and 6, to the 500 Parade on Saturday and were appalled at a sign that was being carried by a church group that read, "God hates Fags." How dare these people to blemish such a wonderful day. My oldest granddaughter, who has learned to read this year, asked, "Nana what are fags, and why does God hate them?" Fortunately I was able to skirt around the subject by replying "Honey, God does not hate."

This group should not be allowed to be in the pre-parade or parade next year. How embarrassed we should be that all the visitors from other states and countries were subjected to such ignorance and hate on our city's behalf. Hopefully next year those in charge of the parade will make sure that our visitors are treated with dignity, and it should be let known that we embrace diversity.

Yep, Fred - Debbie is right...God doesn't hate.
