Mario weighs in on the Lying Chimp and his cabal.

According to the Treasury Department, from 1776-2000, the first 224 years of U.S. history, 42 U.S. presidents borrowed a combined $1.01 trillion from foreign governments and financial institutions, but in the past four years alone, the Bush administration borrowed $1.05 trillion.

And for what? Public services are at an all time low.......

The high spending Repugs have to go!!!! Ike was the last republican president who balanced a budget!

The Chimp in Charge has again refused to accept a bill that would outlaw torture...... New evidence that we have used chemical weapons vs citizens of Iraq..... very Christian indeed.

As for my little world......we got power back over the weekend. Nice to have AC and refrig. Again. God help South Florida if we ever got hit with a big storm...this storm was a Cat 2 , Katrina was a Cat 5. I have never seen a place that is as badly run as Florida. You would think a region that gets hit by hurricanes a few times a year would have a better system set up by now....thanks Jeb!

The Fla power grid is managed by a corporation.....they refuse to bury the power lines because it would cost too much...heaven forbid that insuring the people have a reliable source of power get in the way of corporate profits. ..... .another example of what privatization does to a community.

The Springsteen concert I was going to attend was cancelled because the traffic lights aren't working in the area....the rest of the country will be this inept by the time the Bush Mafia is done.

Mario

"The president of the United States and the secretary of defense would not assert as plainly and bluntly as they have that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction if it was not true, and if they did not have a solid basis for saying it."

Report Warned Bush Team About Intelligence Doubts

By DOUGLAS JEHL
WASHINGTON, Nov. 5 — A top member of Al Qaeda in American custody was identified as a likely fabricator months before the Bush administration began to use his statements as the foundation for its claims that Iraq trained Al Qaeda members to use biological and chemical weapons, according to newly declassified portions of a Defense Intelligence Agency document.
The document, an intelligence report from February 2002, said it was probable that the prisoner, Ibn al-Shaykh al-Libi, “was intentionally misleading the debriefers’’ in making claims about Iraqi support for Al Qaeda’s work with illicit weapons.
The document provides the earliest and strongest indication of doubts voiced by American intelligence agencies about Mr. Libi’s credibility. Without mentioning him by name, President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, Colin L. Powell, then secretary of state, and other administration officials repeatedly cited Mr. Libi’s information as “credible’’ evidence that Iraq was training Al Qaeda members in the use of explosives and illicit weapons.
