Why Are There So Few Conservative Professors Anymore?
It wasn't always this way. When I was in college in the 70s, I had a few liberal professors (including one devoted to Irish nationalism and the IRA) but most were either conservative or quiet. One of my liberal professors was an anti-Semitic sexist homophobe who sexually harassed me. Paul Krugman's column addresses the issue of why there are so many liberals in academia today:
