Drug Makers Reap Benefits of Tax Break
Make no mistake, folks - THIS is the type of entity who will always benefit in an administration as out of balance and as completely out of touch with the lives of everyday people as this one is.
From the Sunday NY Times:
While I know that most who read my posts will be of like mind, I am taking the time say the following in the hope that at least one person who voted for Bush and considers him/herself a "good person" will read it:
Those of you who voted for Bush to "protect your children" from "terrah" or from a lack of family values...the day will come sooner than you think when you will realize that you voted for a person who will - well before your children reach adulthood - only bring them deeper into danger. Danger of not having a college education, of not finding a job, of not having access to healthcare, of living in a country with deficits so large that the country will never be able to dig itself out.
However, Bush did sign a wonderful tax break for drug companies. Boy, he is sure looking out for them. My apartment in Miami Beach overlooks Star Island, in Biscayne Bay (between the Beach and mainland Miami). On that island live people like Shaquille O'Neal, Gloria Estafan, and Rosie O'Donnell. However, on that very exclusive island sits a house that makes ole' Gloria's house look like a double-wide. On one side of the palatial estate there is a sort of private park - the size of three more lots. The park is part of the estate. The estate's owner?
...none other than the CEO of Pfizer - producer of Viagra.
Yep, he is sure enjoying his tax loophole.
Thanks, Georgie.
