Try to blame the mayor for this one...

Remind me again...who hired Brownie, and who said on national TV that he was doing a "heckuva job?"

Rows of trucks carrying hurricane relief supplies waited on Sept. 14 at a Federal Emergency Management Agency staging area at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Ala.
Stumbling Storm-Aid Effort Put Tons of Ice on Trips to Nowhere

My favorite part of the whole article is the intro. I have added the bolds:

WASHINGTON, Oct. 1 - When the definitive story of the confrontation between Hurricane Katrina and the United States government is finally told, one long and tragicomic chapter will have to be reserved for the odyssey of the ice.
Ninety-one thousand tons of ice cubes, that is, intended to cool food, medicine and sweltering victims of the storm. It would cost taxpayers more than $100 million, and most of it would never be delivered.

Read the rest....and then tell the knuckle-draggers to stop whining about the Democratic Mayor and the Governor of LA - I thought the GOP hated taxes and waste - maybe $100 million in melted ice will finally wake them up to what is really going on with waste by the current administration....waste through utter incompetence and apathy for those not right and/or white.
